Housing and Dining Services
Almost 1,100 students call South Dakota Mines residence halls and apartments home while pursuing their education. Living on-campus can be one of the best experiences of your college years - getting to know your neighbors and yourself is fun, exciting and sometimes
challenging. To aid in your transition to South Dakota Mines, more than 45 students are employed to provide support and assistance so you can learn, grow, and succeed.Â
You can find detailed information on housing options at our Residence Life website. You will find photos, room dimensions, the Residence Life Handbook, housing application form, and more. South Dakota Mines and all South Dakota Board of Regents universities have a 2-year residency
requirement. All students must live in campus housing two years after high school graduation (some exemptions apply).
Undergraduate students are assigned to a room with roommates based on the information provided in the housing application. Housing applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Assignments will be emailed to all new students via their South Dakota Mines email address in mid-June. More information on
residence life and housing application are available on the Residence Life website:
